Top Wedding Trends of 2012

2011 was a great year for weddings! The world watched as Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged vows. Their Royal Wedding has inspired many of the trends that we'll see in the New Year. I've compiled a list of the hottest and most stylish trends to look out for. This is sure to be stellar year for weddings.

1. Bridal Gowns: Brides are getting sexier! Brides will be showing more skin as they say "I-Do" in the New Year. We'll be seeing gowns with high, thigh-baring slits, more cleavage, and shorter trains.

2. Wedding Themes: Thanks to Kate Middleton and Prince William, we'll be seeing the Royal Wedding and Victorian theme a lot this year. Look out for statement makers!

3. Accessories: More feathers! Feathers will be used more and more to accent bouquets, hair, table settings, and more.

4. Bouquets: Bouquets don't have to be made of flowers. Say hello to bouquets made of jewelry; fabrics; seashells; etc.

5. Engagement Ring: The New Year will bring new unusual jewels and stones. We'll be seeing engagement rings with unusual stones, shapes, colors, and cuts.

6. Favors: Party favors and gifts are becoming more customized to the individual couples to reflect their tastes and interests.

7. Invitations: Your wedding invites set the tone for what guests can expect on your big day. Brides and Grooms will opt for invitations with bold graphics; different shapes; and textures.

8. The Wedding Cake: Cupcakes will continue to be all the rage this wedding season and we'll be seeing a lot more elaborate and decadent designs.
